By day, the dial of the Florenz 39 looks bright and calm. When darkness falls, the entire surface glows, and the black hands stand out against it as a sharp silhouette. The Florenz 39 is a historically faithful pilot watch with a type A luminous dial and hand-wound movement – in a compact size.
The luminous dial reverses the usual principle: instead of individual numerals and hands, the entire dial is coated with luminous material. As a result, the large Arabic numerals and the triangle with two dots at 12 o'clock stand out clearly even in total darkness.
The Florenz is built like its historical predecessors: barrel-shaped case, straight lugs, closed press-fit case back, dark sandblasted finish and the marking FL23883 on the case flank. As the only one of the five historic manufacturers worldwide, Laco still builds its observation watches this way today.
At 39 mm, the Florenz is an authentic pilot watch for slimmer wrists, for women and men alike. The hand-wound movement needs winding every day – a small ritual that lets you feel just how close it is to the original. The black riveted calfskin strap sets a contrast to the light dial.
